[Audio] Computer networking can define as a group of interconnected nodes which is computing devices can exchange the data packet and resources with each other. besides that, network connection between devices also can be established using cable or wireless media.Other word to say that computer networking also refer to the interconnected collection of autonomous computers and devices that can communicate ,share information and idea among people with a common profession or special interest, usually in an informal social setting Lastly,computer networking also means a digital telecommunications network which allows nodes to share resources..

[Audio] there are many purposes of computer networks. one of them is data can be exchanged and shared with other people. secondly, computer networks provide digital communication and it makes life much easier. For example, we can communicate with other people through messages, email or other electronic applications such as WhatsApp and Telegram. Another thing, files or data for work purposes can be sent to co-workers much more easily. It brings positive impacts on the outcome of the work results. Lastly, we can gain access to the latest information by searching it on the website like Google. This benefits us as we can learn and gain new knowledge as days pass by and become knowledgeable people.

A wired network has some disadvantages when compared to a wireless network. The biggest disadvantage is that your device is tethered to a router. On the other hand, it offers higher speed, stability andsecurity. The most common wired networks use cables connected at one end to an Ethernet port on the network router and at the other end to a computer or other device. A wireless network allows devices to stay connected to the network but roam untethered to any wires. It uses radio waves to transmit data between devices. [Audio] there are many types of computer network. first of all, PAN. PAN is stand for personal area network. it is a network that is used on a personal level. it connects between only two devices. we use PAN to transfer small files such as music, photos and calendar appoinments..

[Audio] next, LAN which is stand for local area network is a group of devices that are located in the same building and in close proximity to each other. it usually connected to the outside world using a socket in the wall that servidice provider has installed. the most common type of LAN is ethernet LAN. it is used when two or more computers are connected to ethernet cable using a switch..

[Audio] third, WLAN. WLAN is wireless local area network that uses wireless communication instead of wired communication. in the other words, WLAN is a LAN but without using cables. WLAN must have at least two devices that use wireless communication to form LAN. it's also have wifi router or wireless access point..

[Audio] besides that, we also have CAN which is stand for campus area network. generally, CAN is a network that joins two or more LANs together within a limited area. so, it could be a university that has multiple buildings in the same general area that are connected to each other to form a campus area network. to explain more, each building in a campus have their own LAN, and then, the buildings are connected to form a campus area network.

[Audio] next, we move to WAN that is stand for wide area network. WAN is the largest computer network that extends over a large geographical distance. in WAN, there is a giant tower that allows user to connect and get internet access. for example, 3G, 4G and 5G.

SAN is stand for storage area network. it has a special high speed network that stores and provides access to large amounts of data. in the other words, SAN is dedicated network that is used for data storage. it consists of multiple disk arrays, switches and servers. SAN are not affected by network traffic such as bottlenecks that can happen in a local area network. that is why SAN are not really a part of a local area network.
