Problem Definition. OList is one such e-commerce company that has faced some losses recently and they want to manage their inventory very well so as to reduce any unnecessary costs that they might be bearing. Need to identify top products that contribute to the revenue and also use market basket analysis to analyze the purchase behavior of individual customers to estimate with relative certainty, what items are more likely to be purchased individually or in combination with some other products..

Insights. The product category “Toys” institutes 20% of the product which generates around 80% of the revenue. Bed_bath_table, sports_leisure, furniture_decor and health_beauty are the product categories which are ordered atleast 5 times and having high order quantity. Combination of above categories with toys and each other are frequently ordered. It is observed that even the price of the certain products is high, it is still bought by customer more often..
Recommendations. Customers purchasing frequently should be provided with some exclusive offers and benefits to them. Company should put some good offers and discounts to attract more customers . Customers who are more towards buying toys should be targeted. Customers who are parents of newly born should be focused more by company. It is observed that even the price of the certain products is high, it is still bought by customer more often..
