[Audio] Welcome, My name is Ralph Moe, and I am so glad you could join us in the Bible study of Exodus 2: 11 – 4: 17 – The Burning Bush..
[Audio] When I attended church for the first time, my intention was to steal the church's stereo system. I gathered my friends who happen to steal his uncle's car to steal a commercial sound stereo system. We were unable to steal the stereo (tried 4 times). We hid behind a pile of dirt and every time we looked up from behind the dirt, a cop would drive by. It takes a cop approximately 15- 20 minutes to circle and come back to our spot. However, every time we tried, there was that cop driving by. At that moment I knew God was in charge. I began attending church regularly. Yet, I still had some behaviors that were not aligned with God's way. Our pastors were patient and diligently kept teaching us God's word. At 17, I committed my life to Jesus (saved & baptized) and have been working diligently to follow God's will. And today I stand here to tell you that my pastor from 36 years ago has baptized me, my wife, and all 5 of my kids. God is faithful and He will deliver you, just as He delivered me!.
[Audio] There is a moment of time that leads you to achieve something that gives a sense of fulfillment. Besides being saved and baptized, I must say that when my first daughter was born, I was in that moment. Then, my second, third, fourth, and fifth – each one gave me a sense of fulfillment, and I was reminded of God's promise. Deut. 1: 10 – 11 ( NKJV), "The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude. 11 May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are and bless you as He has promised you!".
[Audio] We begin to believe and stand upon promises, when we listen to God, we are trusting in Him to deliver us. Promises of multiplying us, the promise of rest, "Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest[a] to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses" ( 1 king 8: 56). The promise of joy, gladness ( Palms 105: 43), trust & deliverance, "who delivered us from so great a death, and [a]does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us" ( 2 Corinthians 1: 10)..
[Audio] When we begin to apply the Word of God in our lives, He promises to bless us in many ways. - God blesses us with an abundance of joy, mercy, grace, forgiveness God blesses us with children God blesses us with grandchildren It shows the love God has for us He provides for all our needs.
[Audio] Today, what is our connection to Moses and the people of Israel when they were led out of Egypt by Moses? Exodus 2: 15, "When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from [b]the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well." Many times, we flee from problems. That does not mean that our problems simply wash away. Exodus 3: 11, 'But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?"God calls us, we doubt ourselves and we refuse to listen." When we do not listen to God, we are the same as the people of Israel, we wander just like they did in the wilderness. When we give it all to God, we are blessed in the same manner the people of Israel were blessed..
[Audio] We must stand upon the promises God makes to experience the fulfillment of the covenant. Discuss God's promises to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the people of Israel. Abraham All nations will be blessed in Abraham and his seed. Abraham and his seed are to possess the land forever. Abraham is to be the father of innumerable seeds. Abraham is to be the father of a singular seed who will conquer all enemies. Abraham's name is to be great..
[Audio] Isaac God kept His promise by giving Isaac and Rebekah's sons. God promised to send Jesus into Isaac's family. Jacob Gen. 28: 13- 15, "And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: "I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. 14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. 15 Behold, I am with you and will keep[a] you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you." God repeats His promises to us the same that He made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob..
[Audio] God promised that He would give the land of Israel to the Jewish people as an eternal possession. The promise was unconditional. God confirmed it at least 55 times with an oath and stated at least 12 times that the covenant was everlasting.
[Audio] Moses goes to investigate the burning bush that was not really burning. God's way to get Moses' attention God tells Moses that He has heard the cries of His people and seen their oppression. Moses rejects God's proposal to rescue the Israelites – He feels he is not worthy. Exodus 3: 14 - 22 – God lays out the plan for Moses With authority Exodus 4 – Moses is still doubtful God continues to press upon Moses by showing him miracles. Exodus 4:14 – God's anger finally calmed down Why? Because Moses was willing to follow God's Will, God's Plan! God was sending Moses's help.
[Audio] Everyone can experience the fulfillment of the covenant. We are all part of God's plan We need to help the Kingdom of God grow Because of God's promises God will deliver us because we stand and believe in His promises..
[Audio] Promise # 1: God promises to deliver His people from suffering. " So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob" ( Exodus 2: 24) God heard the cries and suffering of His people and continues to hear us today. Today, we call our rescue stories our testimonies Psalms 34: 17, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,And delivers them out of all their troubles.".
[Audio] Promise # 1: God promises to deliver His people from suffering. " So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob" ( Exodus 2: 24) God will deliver you just as He delivered His people from Egypt to the Promised Land. God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites, how much more will God do for you? God redeemed His people from pain and suffering, He can redeem you! Psalms 34: 19, " Many are the afflictions of the righteous,But the Lord delivers him out of them all.".
[Audio] God gave Moses a helper, and in the same way, God sends us help. God sent us Christ. God sent us the Holy Spirit. God gave me my wife. Just as Eve was Adam's helper.
[Audio] God does not forget His people; we are the ones who forget what a mighty God we serve. We lose focus, we give attention to: Idols Money Relationships God's promise Hebrews 13: 5, "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you.".
[Audio] God promises to deliver His people to a land of prosperity and many nations, "So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites" ( Exodus 3: 8). God remembered the covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God remembers His unconditional covenant 100% faithful to His promise God's covenants are everlasting/eternal..
[Audio] God redeems Himself through His relationship with Moses and His people. Moses's redemption began when he was a baby Moses's actions were part of God's plan God redeemed His people of pain and suffering and our past Jesus paid the price.
[Audio] God fulfilled the promises to the people of Israel by, keeping His covenant previously made. God is always faithful He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow..
[Audio] The importance of standing on God's promises to receive the fulfillment of the covenant. Trust, deliverance, promises, and faithful to the everlasting covenants made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob..
[Audio] Moses and the people of Israel trusted in God's promises and received deliverance to the Promised Land. Regardless of what happened: Moses killed an Egyptian, buried him. God held no judgment against him God forgave Moses and used him in a mighty way Idols were made The Israelites repented God forgave and carried them on. God's character was shown..
[Audio] Promise # 1: God promises to deliver His people from suffering ( 2: 24). He delivered the Israelites; He will deliver You! Promise #2: God promises to deliver His people to a land of prosperity and many nations ( 3: 8). God will bring you to prosperity, but you must remain faithful. It is a two-way street, You must do your part to receive the fruits..
[Audio] Understand that God hears your cries in your prayers, so remain consistent in your prayer life. Listen to worship music Listen for God's voice Start a journal to record God's messages.
[Audio] Trust that God will deliver you, no matter how hard it gets, so continue trusting Him in your time of need. Have a friend that you can talk to List all your options and talk it over with God Ask God for clarification in the middle of the storm.
[Audio] Believe in God's faithfulness, He will be faithful to you just as He was to His people. Do not let your failures hinder God's gracious covenant faithfulness toward you. Max Lucado quote, "To accept grace is to admit failure, a step we are hesitant to take. We opt to impress God with how good we are rather than confessing how great He is.".
[Audio] Read the Word daily and be reminded of His covenants and promises Understanding God's promises affect: Our attitude to the Old Testament. Our belief about life after death. Our understanding of the place and timing of reward for faithful people. Our appreciation of the future role of Jesus Christ. Our understanding of God's ultimate plan for this earth..
[Audio] Lord, we pray that you hear our cries, our brokenness, and deliver us from it. We humbly ask you to share your yoke with us during our time of need, and difficulties as we lay down our burdens. Remind us that you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, a sound mind, and love. When we are in the middle of the path that you have chosen for us and we stumble, we pray that at that moment Your strengthening love and care help our unbelief. You set us on a path to victory, you send us help when we are lost, therefore, we will not let my heart be troubled. Instead, we will offer our faith as we continue to trust You to move mountains. We will wait upon the Holy Spirit to give us direction, and the next steps as we build upon the foundation of trust in you, and faithfully obey the instructions you give us. Lord, give us a faithful heart that fills our souls with devotion for you, strengthening us against all temptations. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
