FOOD CORPORATION OF INDIA (FCI). Established under the Food Corporation's Act of 1964 under Food Department . The First Headquarter of FCI was established at Chennai. Thanjavur is the birthplace of FCI where its first office was inaugurated on January 14, 1965. Also first Digital food museum was launched. First office of FCI was situated in South Zone.

Indefinite fasting of Sh Upender Kumar resulted in samjhota as Class IV employees were Reverted back from South Zone & recruited again 1975 Emergency was declared in the country, Trade union movement were ceased & registrations were cancelled Stagnation was revoked Simultaneously Jail Bharo Andolan had started Mr. Dabara(IAS)- 1973- Defence of rule on employees (DRI).

Trade union movements were started again after emergency Hindu Maha Sabha Conference was held (Sh. Tyagi ji) & 5000 employees participated from all over. 25 employees participated from FCI were dismissed under Section 19 Trade union revived In 1978, Agitation was started at 7 Race Course Road, Delhi..

Achievements' Again recruitment started. FCI Staff norms again changed to post emergency era. Reinstatement of 25 employees with all official benefits.

1980 central govt employee DA was not given to FCI (Sh. Raghupati) 1984-85-86 Agitation started 1986-87 wage revision was done which was effective form 1983 1987 2nd wage revision settled in 1990 4 major trade union participated under JAC(Joint Action Concern) Banner.

1992 wage revision settled in 1986 All these wage revision were achieved under JAC 1987-88 1997,2007-2017 All India level Sh. M.C.Tyagi(General Secretary) under Sh. M.C.Tyagi (General Secretary).

Double OTA - Golden Period In 1995-96 Central Govt. Congress introduce Exit policy to reduce employees , which was opposed in 2004 & demonstration was done at Parliament Staff was surplus, Voluntary retirement scheme (9000 employees opted).

Union play a crucial role in protecting and advancing the interests of employees like it gave us historical wage revision, PRMS, Cafeteria Fringe benefits, pension Schemes whose fruits we will enjoy till the last. Union is shield which is protecting us from the very starting and to keep going & fulfilling its responsibilities to the fullest we have to give our full support to our representatives..
