[Audio] Hallo everyone. Thank you for the time to join my session today. My name is Andi Budi Bakti from Indonesia University of Education. I will be discussing our research entitled "Bibliometric Analysis of Social Engineering Research Trends in the Education Sector". This is preliminary research to support our main research about "Social Engineering Competency Framework for Student". Let's start..

Scene 2 (25s)

[Audio] Since the digital era in the 1980s we have witnessed a major transformation in the way we interact with the world. Now we are in a period where everything is digitized even things as valuable as money gold and personal data. This era boundaries are virtually nonexistent. With advancements in technology everything has become more accessible allowing for unprecedented flexibility in our daily lives. For example social media it is making the world to be smaller place. While the digital era has undeniably brought about convenience it has also given rise to new threats. Cybercrime has emerged as a posing substantial risks to both individuals and organizations. Social engineering one of the cybercrimes is the tactic of manipulating influencing or deceiving a victim in order to steal personal and financial information. Example of social engineering.

Scene 4 (1m 45s)

[Audio] Regardless of the negative context the concept of social engineering can be utilized in a more dignified direction. How patterns for convincing other individuals are brought as a provision for social engineering to improve less established social structures to patterns of conflict resolution in society. Agents of change such as influencers or policy makers who are able to provide solutions in solving social problems who act as reformers and engage in positive social engineering efforts. They certainly have communication collaboration personal dan social counseling skills. In education sector social engineering can be used by students as agent of change. The application is like in "Kuliah Kerja Nyata" course. So this study we want to map the "social engineering" concept in educational research..

Scene 5 (2m 37s)

[Audio] The objectives of this research are : 1. Identifying Trends : This study track social engineering concept in academic literature focused on relevant competency for student. 2. Mapping Research Focus : This study pattern to find gap and new research about social engineering in education sector. 3. Analyzing Relationship between Publications : This study determine correlation and collaboration between authors institutions and countries in research of social engineering. 4. Evaluating Research Impact : This study measure impact through citation and reference analysis to find how significant the contribution of literature. 5. Supporting Curriculum Development : This provide data as recommendation for developing curriculum that encourage social engineering competency.

Scene 6 (3m 30s)

[Audio] This research was carried out in five stages using two main applications namely perish or publish and vosviewer. The first step is to search for articles in the publish or perish application using the title search namely "social engineering" and keywords namely "social engineering education student". The search was carried out in the Google Scholar database from 2013 to 2023. From this search 361 articles were obtained which were called primary search results. However from these results some articles are duplicates and some do not provide complete information such as author publisher and year of publication. So 124 articles were reduced and 237 articles remained. The third step was to optimize 234 articles by looking at the relevance of the content and the topic being studied namely social engineering in the education sector. Only 38 articles are relevant. From the remaining articles statistically data was obtained that the total citations were 710 with 64.54 citations per year 19.19 citations per article and 2.16 authors per article. This indicates that social engineering research in the education sector is adequately reviewed every year and has an impact on other relevant research. Finally VosViewer software was used to create knowledge maps and citation networks that visualize patterns and relationships between publications. The results are shown as follows.

Scene 7 (5m 12s)

[Audio] Here it can be seen that "social engineering" is directly connected to the "social engineering site". This means that social engineering cannot be separated from social networks such as Facebook LinkedIn and other websites. Apart from that "social engineering" is also related to "attacks" meaning that many studies investigate cases of cyber attacks involving social engineering. Many studies also examine the characteristics of social engineering and various alternative measurements that can be used..

Scene 8 (5m 40s)

[Audio] Based on the analysis of co-occurrence relationships themes social engineering appears frequently in social engineering attacks (2) social justice (2) and social networking sites (2). Meanwhile the relevance of social research manipulation is more dominantly related to ethics (30.415) needs (30.415) political involvement (15.341) social aspects (15.341) and students (13.683). In the temporary field of education the value of occurrence and relevance is still very low. It provides a description of research related to this. Still not much has been done to study it..

Scene 9 (6m 30s)

[Audio] This presentation ends in conclusion. We declare that still few researchers who study social engineering in the field of education especially developing competencies for students in facing social engineering challenges and using social engineering approaches as student competencies in solving problems. Further research regarding the social engineering competency framework for students will be very valuable in understanding and developing relevant skills for graduating from college..
