Welcome!.
THREE PHASE Supply and phase sequence,. Balanced and unbalanced load.
A three-phase power is a three-wire ac power circuit with each phase ac signal 120 electrical degrees apart..
Principle. In a symmetric three-phase power supply system, three conductors each carry an alternating current of the same frequency and voltage amplitude relative to a common reference, but with a phase difference of one third of a cycle (i.e. 120 degrees out of phase) between each..
Phase sequence. In a three-phase system, the order in which the voltages attain their maximum positive.
Positive sequence: it represents three equal phasors phase displaced by 120° and has phase sequence same as the original phasors . It specifies that the current is flowing through source to load . Negative sequence : it represents three equal phasors, phase displaced by 120° with each other, and has phase sequence opposite to that of the original phasors. It specifies that current is flowing from load to source. Zero sequence : it represents three equal and parallel phasors with zero degree phase displacement. It specifies that current is flowing from source to ground. NOTE:- IN A BALANCED THREE PHASE SYSTEM OPERATING IN NORMAL CONDITION, ONLY POSITIVE SEQUENCE COMPONENT EXISTS..
Balanced and Unbalanced load. Balanced Load: A load connected to an electric circuit (as a three-wire system) so that the currents taken from each side of the system are equal and the power factors are equal is balanced load.
Load condition i.e inductive load winding inductance varies according to the coil. Magnitude of the voltage… if the voltage magnitude varies then the current flow also varies. Single phase load should not be given. The phase difference should be equal. The system should not have any fault such as symmetrical fault and unsymmetrical fault..
Unbalanced load. An unbalanced load occurs when there is significantly more power drawn on one side of the panel than the other. This can lead to overheating of electrical components and possibly overloading the panel. Unbalance circuit means in three phase system, one or two phases circuit’s the current and voltage will not be in equal in magnitude as well as phase difference. Generally , unbalance condition may come to the system due to fault..
IMPORTANCE OF THREE PHASE SYSTEM. One phase, two phase, or more than three phase input can be taken from three phase system rather than generated independently. High power motors prefer a steady torque especially one created by a rotating magnetic field. The amount of wire required for a three phase system is less than required for an equivalent single phase system . Three phase system is more economical than the single phase..
