DEFINITION OF TERMS:. /iSOH. Honors- ceremonies rendered to dignitary, police/military, and civilian of high rank or position, either a local or foreign individual, as a manifestation of special courtesy..

Honors- ceremonies rendered to dignitary, police/military, and civilian of high rank or position, either a local or foreign individual, as a manifestation of special courtesy.

Dais- an elevated platform where the honoree and police host stand to give them distinction and prominence.

Honoree - a person entitled to Police Honors.  A high ranking local/foreign military/police officers and civilian dignitaries as a gesture of courtesy and a tribute to his rank and/or position.

Police Host- an officer designated to escort and receive the honoree.
