Rules for Making Notes of a given passage. 4. Read through the given passage slowly and carefully to understand the main point/idea of the passage . 2 . Read again slowly to understand different sub-points . 3 . Try to find the main point and the related sub-points in each paragraph if the passage is divided into a few paragraphs . 4 . All unessential and irrelevant information/ details should be deleted . 5. All important points should be given in a proper order and in a logical sequence . 6. Complete sentences should not be used . 7. Recognizable abbreviations and contractions must be used wherever possible..
