[Audio] What is Dravidian language? The Dravidian language family is a group of languages spoken by over 250 million people in southern India, north-east Sri Lanka, and south-west Pakistan 1. The family is divided into four groups: Northern, Central, South-Central, and South 1 The Dravidian language family has a rich history and culture. The earliest known Dravidian language inscriptions date back to the 2nd century BCE and were found in the Madurai and Tirunelveli districts of Tamil Nadu 1..
[Audio] Types of dravidian languages Here is a list of the 24 subgroups of the Dravidian language family 1: Thet are Brahui Malto Kurukh Kolami Naiki Parji Gadaba Gondi Konda-Dora Kui Kuvi Ollari And some other sub groups are there.
[Audio] The Dravidian languages form a close-knit family. Most scholars agree on four groups:[ First one is South Dravidian They are Tamil–Kannada Tamil languages, including Tamil Malayalam languages, including Malayalam Irula Second one is South-Central Dravidian They are Telugu languages, including Telugu Gondi-Kui Gondi languages Third one is Central Dravidian They are Kolami Naiki Gadaba Fourth one is North Dravidian They are Kurukh–Malto Kurukh.
[Audio] What is literature Four Dravidian languages, viz. Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam, have lengthy literary traditions.[144] Literature in Tulu and Kodava is more recent.[144] Recently old literature in Gondi has been discovered as well.[145] The earliest known Dravidian inscriptions are 76 Old Tamil inscriptions on cave walls in Madurai and Tirunelveli districts in Tamil Nadu, dating from the 2nd century BCE.
