[Audio] What is a passive protest ?A passive protest is a protest that a person or group of people resist or disapprove the government without using violence mainly by refusing laws. Examples of passive protest during the civil rights movement Martin Luther King - For use of its aggressive protest non violently but spiritually, mentally, and emotionally Sit-ins - sat quietly and waited to be served Boycots - to stop buying or using goods or services of a certain company or country. Marches - Civil disobedience W.E.B Dubois - For being in the Pan-Africanism movement without violence A. Philph. Randolph- For directing a march to end employment discrimination In the defense industry The Southern Christian Conference- Goal was to end segregation using peaceful demonstrations and non-violent protest..

A "Militant protest" is protest using violent and aggressive methods to achieve the end goal of a certain protest Examples of Militant Protest/Leaders during the civil rights movement.. Malcolm X- A black advocate for empowerment of black people,. He often went against the "peaceful" protest and did anything necessary to make change. "Black Panthers" .- This was a group that believed that peaceful protest didn't really help black americans.They often used tactics such as "policing the police, open hostility, and using violence." Watts Rebellion Booker T. Washington The Citizens Council- White citizens who were against desegregation by funding things to slow down or stop Desegregation. Plessy VS. Fergerson- A supreme court case that states "separate but equal" the court case itself wasn't militant but the case provked militant acts/protest..

[Audio] Who and how did the civil rights movement affect others? The civil rights movement affected white people because it allowed them to be more open minded, as well as open their eyes, and change their pass beliefs about certain racial groups and caused hatred in others for changes of the legal system. This movement also changed the lives of women as well as affected different laws because it exposed the racism and people behind unconstitutional laws. The civil rights movement also impacted TV and movies because before the movement TV programs had a tendency of using racial slurs after the movement the use of racial slurs in TV started to die down. It changed interracial marriage laws because before the movement interacial marriage /realshionships were illigal even though black women would be raped by white men it became the "southern way of living"..
