Scene 35 (20m 20s)

[Audio] The history of AlFazl dates back to the time when the Promised Messiah (as) was prophesied to come. It was revealed that along with him there would be a son of his who would bring "Fazl" - a divine mercy of Allah. This fulfillment of this prophecy is what forms the core and foundation of AlFazl. It was through Hadhrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad, the second successor and son of the Promised Messiah (as) that this divine mercy was manifested. To spread this message across the world, he launched AlFazl in 1911 , making it one of the oldest magazines in the history of the Islamic world. By grace of Almighty, under the guidance of Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 5th successor of the Promised Messiah (as) AlFazl has grown considerably in its reach, becoming a source of true faith and knowledge for millions of people all around the world. It is with this divinely ordained mission of bringing people closer to their Creator and helping to recognize His blessings, that the AlFazl continues to strive for the betterment of humankind..

Scene 36 (21m 29s)

[Audio] On the occasion of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him) being revealed, Al Hakam and Al Badr newspapers had already been published. On February 11, 1906, he declared his own newspaper, Al Fazl. In its abjad numerical value, a prophecy of 1993 was forecasted. The following slide will present the meaning of this prophecy..

This is that news paper Hazoor mentioned.

Scene 39 (22m 22s)

[Audio] 110 years ago, Hazrat Khalifa Al Masih granted permission to Dr. Yaqub Beg, Dr. Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah and Sheikh Rehmatullah to pursue a news report in Lahore. Hazrat Khalifa Al Masih signed a document to inform them of the request and wrote that the news report and its purpose were different. Ever since then, we have remained dedicated to fulfilling the goals and vision set out by our founders. Our mission is to continue that legacy and ensure that the vision is achieved..

Scene 40 (22m 56s)

[Audio] Relying on the mercy of Allah, let us start this humble endeavor with good intention, sincerity and reward. On November 19th 1914, Hazrat Khalifa Al-Masih Al-Awwal commanded the name of AlFazl and it was established in an edict that Hazrat said, they were inspired in dream to keep this blessed name "AlFazl". According to Hazrat Masih Mawood, this blessed name remains fixed. (Anwar Ul Uloom, Volume 8, Page 371)..

Scene 41 (23m 29s)

[Audio] Maulana Maslih Mo'in established Al Fazl Daily in 1913, showing a commitment and dedication to accuracy and reliability that remains to this day. When asked why he was so dedicated to publishing the newspaper, Mo'in explained that it was a big trust and he wanted to do it that day. He told his companion to not be late or the request would be denied. Sheikh Yaqoob Ali Saahib Urfani was with him, and when they arrived at the station, the stationmaster was already there and they were able to make a declaration that the circulation had begun..

Scene 42 (24m 6s)

[Audio] At Al Fazl Daily, we are proud of our history and our unique qualities, which are especially evident in our long-standing relationship with the Jamaat. On Friday the 13th of June 1913, Hazrat Khalifa-ul-Masih I delivered a sermon that encouraged the audience to read Al Fazl Daily with great enthusiasm. His sermon also prescribed a special routine for the publication of Islamic news, so readers would be guided by the words of Khalifa-ul-Masih whenever any news of fear or security came up. He went so far as to write a special article for Al Fazl Daily on the 3rd of September 1913, stressing the importance of guiding the Jamaat to the right path. His words have stood the test of time and continue to shine as a beacon of guidance at Al Fazl Daily..

Scene 43 (24m 58s)

[Audio] Despite opposition, in the early days of the Ahmadiyya Movement, 'Al Fazl Daily' was preferred by many people, including Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad himself. Qadi Sahib of Noshahra, Munshi Barkat Ali Khan wrote that when opponents of the Movement started to distribute the paper, 'Peace Message', many of their own would buy Al Fazl instead. This was despite the press of Shariah being preoccupied due to tension between Khalifa sahib and the leaders of Lahore. Nevertheless, the majority of friends had trust in Al Fazl, and the tender feelings of nature were still strengthening. According to records, the number of subscriptions in December 1914 was 562..

Scene 44 (25m 46s)

[Audio] For over 110 years, Al Fazl Daily has sought to spread knowledge and truth for the benefit of humanity. Dedicated to bringing stories of people and events to life, it has become an encouragement and source of optimism in line with the founding mission of its founders Maulana Muhammad Ali and Hadhrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad. Al Fazl Daily has been particularly proud to bring the important message of the Qur'an and Sunnah to life through its publications, such as the story of Hadhrat Maulana Nurul Hasan’s noble sacrifice. In order to keep his publication afloat and provide for his family, Maulana Nurul Hasan had to sacrifice two gold chains, one from his mother and one from his daughter. Despite this, his love and dedication for his publication never wavered. This spirit of selflessness and dedication is something that Al Fazl Daily aims to embody in all its publications - to bring joy to its readers and provide a beacon of hope and faith in a dark world..

Scene 45 (26m 50s)

[Audio] I'd like to bring to your attention the significant days in Al-Fazl's timeline. Established in 1910, the news and publishing company has evolved through different eras and experiences. In 1919, the Punjab Ordinance for Press Freedom was passed, a critical movement in the freedom of expression. In 1972, a separate magazine for women was created, and in 1997, the first online version of Al-Fazl was launched. Also, special issues and histories were created throughout the years, such as a special issue for Pakistan's 60th birthday and more..

Scene 46 (27m 32s)

[Audio] In 1917, Al Fazl Daily received the special honour of the Holy Prophet's (Peace Be Upon Him) personal support and funding. Under the leadership of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih, this marked the start of Al Fazl Daily being re-positioned as an organ of the Jamaat, giving service to others. The loyalty of Al Fazl Daily to serve humanity has never been diminished, becoming a light of truth, intrepidity and justice for many. At present, Al Fazl Daily is greatly significant in circulating news, updates, and bulletins to a great many people across the globe. As a recognition of its endeavors and impact, Al Fazl Daily has won many awards and is respectfully known as the “Voice of Peace”..

Scene 47 (28m 21s)

[Audio] At the annual gathering of 27 December, 1917, Hazoor outlined seven essential ways to acquire knowledge. A table has been laid out with these ways to help accurately recall them and maximize our benefit. These ways include attending local Markaz for lectures, participating in Quran teaching, engaging in Qur’an Deers during Ramadan, taking advantage of written material circulated through the mail, studying books authored by the Promised Messiah, reading newspapers and magazine series, and sharing knowledge with others by teaching. Following these ways will provide a strong foundation of knowledge and serve as a guide to lead us to prosperity..

Scene 48 (29m 5s)

[Audio] Al Fazl has been a leading force in journalism for over a century since the first publication of its 16-page newspaper on 26x20/4 pages in 1913. Its progress was met with opposition from non-mainstream media in 1914 when its editor was appointed by Hazrat Musleh Maud. In June 1914, the paper was increased to 22x18/4 and later in December 1914, control of the publication was given to Hazrat Bhai Abdul Rehman Qadiyani. It started to be published twice a week from November 1915 and continued to do so until June 1916 before administrative responsibilities were transferred to Khwaja Ghulam Nabi in July 1916. The original size of 26x20/4 was resumed in July 1924 and a series of special issues was published in honor of the Prophet's blessings in November 1924. Al Fazl became a twice-weekly publication in December 1925 and hosted a series of special gatherings in June 1928. Its ongoing dedication to quality journalism and efforts to remain a relevant and influential voice in the media for over a century is a remarkable achievement..

Scene 49 (30m 26s)

[Audio] Since its inception in October 1950, the Al Fazl Daily has been an integral part of Pakistani history. Published by the Press of the Rehmant-e-Gharbi, the Al Fazl soon became popular in homes across the country. Despite this success, the publication was met with hurdles - first in 1953 then again in 1984. After an arduous 3 years, 11 months and 9 days, the Al Fazl was finally relaunched in 1987 with the approval of the Fourth Caliph of Ahmadiyya, Mirza Tahir Ahmad. As it celebrates its 110th anniversary, the Al Fazl has continued to produce innovative content and build an International Network from London in 1994, while continuing to provide its readers an Index of its articles from 1913-1965 and establishing itself as a daily online publication in 2002. Despite the challenges it has faced - including bans in 1990 and 2005 - the Al Fazl has managed to maintain its legacy, reminding us of the hard work and dedication of its editors, printers and publishers..
