McMillen Lions Orientation  8th period (Day 1)    2021-2022

Scene 2

The simple rule is that electronic devices should be silent and out of sight unless a teacher gives you permission to have them out.

Scene 3

1 st  Tardy:  	Verbal Warning.  Teacher records tardy in Pinnacle. 2 nd  Tardy: 	Teacher records tardy in Pinnacle, conferences with  			student.  3 rd  Tardy:	Teacher completes Review 360 report, calls parent, and  			issues a teacher detention.  4 th  Tardy:		Teacher completes Review 360 report, calls parent,  			discusses tardy/absence concerns, informs parent of  			tardy referral process for next infraction.  5 th  Tardy:	Teacher calls parent and refers to administrators in  			Review 360.  Review 360 referral to administrator for  			each tardy for the remainder of the semester.

Scene 4

Buses load  in bus lane on East side of the building.   Please report to the  bus lane  as quickly as possible.  One set of buses will be waiting when the bell rings at 4:15. The second wave of buses arrive after loading PESH students.   Buses will not wait for you!

Scene 5

Parents may pick up on the West side of the building near the front entrance.

Scene 6

All  students must be off campus by 4:30   unless involved in school activity and under DIRECT sponsor/staff supervision.  Most teacher tutorials occur from 4:15-5:00 p.m.  Please exit the building immediately after completing tutorial or library sessions.

Scene 7

Student spirit days are Thursday ( 9 th  & JV2 Game Days) School Colors-  B lue and  Gold School Mascot-  Lions

Scene 8

Student Expectations -   1 st  Period Athletes

1 st  period athletes ( M HS or returning from PESH) must remain in the  gym  until the bell rings to end 1 st  period.  You may visit your lockers only during passing periods.

Log on to pisd.edu Look under Popular Links and click on Bus Route Finder Enter your address to find your afternoon Bus number and Bus Drop-off point.

Scene 10

Our buses come in two waves.   Buses for students from the Armstrong MS area will be lined up waiting for you when the bell rings.  You will load and go to PESH to pick up additional students before going home.  Please head straight to the loading area!

Scene 11

Buses for students from the Murphy MS area will load at PESH before coming to McMillen to pick up our students.  These buses generally arrive closer to 4:30.

Scene 12

Arrive on time to class and keep appointments on time. Complete assignments on time and come to class prepared. Exhibit professionalism in the areas of courtesy, appropriate language and dress. Expect to remain in class and work during work times (bell-to-bell). Work toward achieving individual and group goals and treat everyone with respect. Adhere to the ethical use of technology in regards to property, privacy, and appropriateness.
