Some of the reasons teenagers get depressed are:

They usually have no one to comfort them but those who only notices their flaws and not their success.

When they have none that comforts them it means that there are family problems involved which not only affects their mental health but also the academic performance.

Some teenagers often get discriminated by their race, face, or their colour.

Whenever a person is depressed, they get suicidal thoughts and there are many deaths from suicides than natural deaths.

Nowadays people care more about how they look more than how they behave which leads to low self esteem to those who has abnormalities which sometimes ends up in getting surgeries or even to some extent, suicide.

Those who have low self esteem because they are fat, ends up getting the wrong diet and constantly faints due to the lack of food.

Some parents compare their children to others who has higher grades etc, which is also a cause of low self esteem and usually ends up committing suicide or running away from their home.
