Attendance. Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education. Absences may result in serious disruption of student mastery of instructional materials. Students must attend at least 90% (8 days for fall semester) (9 days for spring semester) of the scheduled class days to receive credit for each class. If a student incurs more than 10% absences, the student will not receive credit for the course. If you are absent a note must be turned into the attendance office within 3 school days. VOE (verification of enrollment) are issued by the assistant principal and follow the 90% attendance rule using the previous semester..

[image]. Attendance / Credit Denied. If you received a credit denial due to excessive absence (10 Or more days for spring semester 2023), the student will be on an attendance contract. If you meets the requirements of the attendance contract, the credit(s) will be restored. If your student does not meet the attendance contract requirement, the student will repeat the course. Print the contract, read it, all sign it, take a picture & return it to your AP Office..

Verification Of Enrollment (VOE). For a student between the ages of 16 and 18 to obtain a driver license, written parental permission must be provided for the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to access the student’s attendance records and, in certain circumstances, for a school administrator to provide the student’s attendance information to DPS. A verification of enrollment (VOE) form may be obtained from the office, which the student will need to submit to DPS upon application for a driver license. To receive a VOE, the student must have a 90% daily attendance rate in the previous semester when requesting a VOE form. Money ($500) will NOT be refunded if you do not meet the attendance requirement. Check with the school FIRST..

Student Areas Before School Students must enter through the Main Entry in the front of the building or the Back Entrance Bus Drop off. 6:50am-7:10am – Students are to report cafeteria, reef, or common area upon entering the building. No one is allowed down any hallways or classrooms without a pass! Student Areas After School 2:50pm – All students must exit the building through the Main Entry/Exit in the front of the building and the Back Entrance/Exit by Bus Pick Up. 3:20pm – D-Hall released, Saturday School 8:00am-12:00pm Conduct Before and After School Students will be governed by The Student Code of Conduct at all school related events..

Student ID. Students must WEAR an ID on lanyard, around neck, at all times. Students will need ID to purchase event tickets at student price. Students will be required to have ID at all athletic events. ID will be required to enter the building and classrooms. If not, a parent will need to purchase or bring ID - $10 ID will be required by the school Nurse and Library. ID will be required to be served Breakfast and Lunch. Refusal to wear ID on lanyard, around neck, will result in disciplinary actions.

Stadium and Athletic Event Expectations. Students must have a current TCHS I.D., to sit in the student section. Students must be in dress code. Students must be respectful of the athletes and other spectators. Students MUST cheer for TCHS at ALL times!.

Cell Phone/Headphone Policy. Cell phones/headphones are allowed during passing periods and lunch periods. Cell phones/headphones are to be put away upon entry into the classroom. Headphones are permitted in hallways with "1 in/1 out" policy. Failure to comply with this directive will result in a $15 fine and confiscation. Failure to adhere to cell phone policy will result in SAC, 15 fine, and confiscation. OVER THE EAR – NOT ALLOWED, BUDS ONLY.

Dress Code Violations Shirts must cover the shoulders. Shirts must cover front and back of torso. Shirts cannot be see thru or have low cut neck lines. Solid t-shirts can be worn under shirts to make them appropriate. No undergarments can be visible. The shirt must be long enough to cover your midriff. Shirts may not have inappropriate sayings or advertisements for tobacco, drugs, or alcohol. Any image on your shirt must be appropriate and in Dress Code!.

Special Situations • Uniforms or costumes within the guidelines approved by the principal are acceptable on designated campus days. • Any other article of clothing or accessory or hairstyle deemed inappropriate, unacceptable, inflammatory, and/or disruptive (such as clothing with lettering, pictures, profanity, nudity, patches, slogans, symbols, or advertisements that are distracting or inappropriate) may be confiscated by the school. Confiscated items may be claimed by the parent before June 15 annually. Unclaimed articles will be discarded.
