MESSAGE CONVEYED IN THE JOHN JACK WIGLEY’S “HOME OF THE ASHFALL”.
But before that let us have a short preview about what happen in the story;.
The author began his writing with describing the erupting volcano, which is the main theme of the text. Later on, he recounted his life before to the eruption. He described how he dealt with the issue after the volcano had erupted. The majority of the essay concentrates on what happened when he returned to his hometown following the eruption. On that part, there was a lot of humor. That section also looked at how Filipinos react in the event of disasters. The Filpinos , especially their families, aid and care for one another. One thing I think may be enhanced is for him to tell more about how other Filipinos acted based on what he seen, as opposed to focusing solely on his own experiences. According to my observations, the first-person narrative method of storytelling is undeniably powerful since readers can simply imagine what the author is going through. I believe the author is successful in employing the approaches since I found the essay to be enjoyable and exciting to read. Furthermore, I recall several details from the text. I learned new things as a result of the text's inclusion of culture. Overall, Home of the Ashfall is a great essay because it possesses the qualities that readers seek in a writing..
We all know that Mount Pinatubo is one of the most active volcanoes here in the Philippines. In the year 1991 Mount Pinatubo erupted, people there experienced how the calamity affect their lives AND John Jack WIGLEY who is the writer of the story witnessed how the people there think and act in times of calamity..
m.S-'tiOSt•1.. I researched some information from google about the eruption of Mount Pinatubo and saw these news :.
To the kapampangans and to the people affected by this tragedy, it would be serve as a testament to their irrepressible attribute of rising about their plight and predicament. Despite the challenges they’ve encountered, Filipinos can still manage to smile positively in spite of the devastating calamity because of the bayanihan of every Filipino no matter how hard the situation. This is the brand of being Filipino, no matter what trials come our lives, we are still able to laugh.
W hat I learned from the story is to always be prepared because we know that life is full of challenges and let's not let those trials kill us instead get up and start again..
