[Audio] Here at the Tucson Power Production Generation Station we pride ourselves in providing a safe working environment for visitors, vendors and contractors..

[Audio] TEP is committed to providing you safe and healthy working conditions Compliance with this commitment is a condition of your contract or employment here at the TEP Sundt Station. This training is required every 12 months. It is the responsibility of the contractor, vendor, or visitor to identify if they do not understand English. It is a requirement that at least one person on your crew speaks fluent English..

[Audio] Currently we have Unit 3, Unit 4, ICT 1 and ICT 2 in service. We also have 10 RICE engines that are located just east of the plant. Units 1 & 2 on the north side of the plant have been decommissioned after 50 plus years of service..

[Audio] While we do everything possible to eliminate or reduce hazards, we depend on all employees to be aware of and identify hazards or unsafe conditions in the work areas so that we can address them in a timely matter. In this safety orientation we will be discussing these potential hazards as well as TPP specific policies and procedures..

[Audio] Our Generation Station is a 24 hour operation, therefore it is imperative that everyone ensures that their work area is returned to the original safe state when the work is completed as well as ensuring that all potential hazard conditions are barricaded, straightened up, or removed prior to leaving at the end of the shift. The jobsite shall be kept clean and orderly during and after each workday. Good housekeeping is a necessary requirement for maintaining safety at job sites. Accidents and injuries are avoided and productivity is improved where good housekeeping is practiced daily..

[Audio] To ensure the safety and security of all employees and visitors it is imperative that you adhere to the TEP Badge Access Policy. All employees and contractors must scan in an out of all controlled areas every time, this is imperative for our emergency accountability procedures. We must know who is onsite at all times to ensure safe evacuations and accountability is accurate. If you cannot scan into an area, you must be escorted by a TEP representative at all times Access Badges Do not lend your badge out to anyone Report lost or stolen badges immediately to the security gate Keep your badge in your possession at all times Return your temporary badge to security when leaving the plant and recover your driver's license Do not buddy scan through the Power Plant drive gates, each employee must scan in and out each time.

[Audio] Here you can see two of the main entrances on the South end of the plant. The intercom is used to call security to gain access and when leaving. The Security officers will buzz you in and out..

[Audio] Please be aware of the TPP smoking policy, only smoke in areas that are designated. Smoking in buildings, on the units, cooling towers, natural gas areas, or chemical areas is prohibited, including the use of vapor cigarettes and smokeless tobacco.

[Audio] Contractors shall obtain permission from their TEP rep to use TEP owned equipment Contractors may use RENTAL equipment onsite upon verification from the TEP REP Do not alter or modify equipment and tools. All equipment and tools shall only be used as they were designed Contractor Supervisors are responsible to ensure that the operator is QUALIFIED and CERTIFIED to operate equipment at this facility Contractor Supervisors are responsible for the training of their Employees prior to use of all equipment.

[Audio] Please be aware of the overhead cable trays and piping here at our generation station. A spotter is required when backing vehicles with limited visibility. Look around and be aware of low overhead structures and other hazards..

[Audio] Do not overload outlets or power strips Never attempt to reset tripped breakers, you must contact the Control Room Shift Supervisor Avoid switchgear areas when breakers are being actuated.

[Audio] Fall protection is required 4' off the ground or when there is a danger of a fall to the lower level Restraints (PFL) are required on all aerial lifts and scissor lifts Handrails SHALL be used when climbing stairs – make sure you have at least one hand available when carrying items on stairs..

[Audio] Fire Resistant (FR) when required Hard hats (brim facing forward) Safety glasses with side shields (ANSI Z87) Prescription glasses must be safety glass with attached side shields or wear safety overlay glasses Hearing protection is required (noise >85 dB) Double hearing protection is required at the RICE engine halls Safety toe shoes/boots are required Shirts with sleeves Long pants All loose items or clothing shall be tucked in, secured and/or stowed to prevent injury.

[Audio] Driving and cell phone conversations both require a great deal of thought. When doing them at the same time, your brain is unable to do either well. For example, it's nearly impossible to read a book and have a phone conversation. While driving, this often results in crashes due to delayed braking times and not seeing traffic signals. Personal cell phone use is prohibited during work hours, during breaks only Texting or talking on phone is prohibited while driving No photos can be taken without permission of TEP.

[Audio] Your SDS' must be readily available onsite or electronically All TEP plant product SDS' are available on the TEP intranet and can be requested from your TEP rep All products/chemicals brought on plant site by contractors shall have the manufacturer's label and be accompanied with a SDS Products transferred from a bulk container to a secondary container shall be labeled with the chemical name and health and safety precautions.

[Audio] The bulk chemical storage areas are located in the areas that are shown here. Each location has the SDS and an eyewash & safety shower located there. Please be sure to include this information in your safety briefing prior to conducting work near these areas. Please note that the eyewash and safety showers are connected to the control room and will alarm when used. Prior to beginning your pre-job brief and testing of the showers, please call the control room and let the operators know so that they don't think there is an emergency..

In case of an emergency: Call the Unit 4 Control Room by Gai-tronics on line 5, or Call the Unit 4 Control Room by TEP house phone dial 6660, or Call the Unit 4 Control Room by cell phone (520) 917-6660.

[Audio] At the Evacuation Assembly Area, locate & your report to your Supervisor Your Supervisor will notify the TEP Representative and inform him/her of crew head count Your TEP Representative will notify the Accounting Administrator of the plant wide head count Entering and leaving the power plant will be restricted during an evacuation.

[Audio] All Contractors are required to have employees that are trained in basic first aid All Contractors are required to provide their own approved first aid kits onsite and readily available TEP First Aid kits are located throughout the plant You are required to report all first aids to plant safety.

[Audio] Be aware of your surroundings Look before you pick-up, reach under or in places Do not try to remove or interact with them! Immediately call the Control Room, they will call the appropriate people to come remove them safely.

[Audio] Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) Asbestos can be found throughout the plant in different materials: Gray siding around the turbine building Gaskets Insulation material Wire coating, etc..

[Audio] Asbestos is only a health issue when it becomes friable and becomes airborne. Asbestos particles may cause health effects if inhaled. ACM has been abated and asbestos free insulation has been installed NEVER scrape, sand, grind, or drill the ACM. Contact your TEP Rep if you encounter ACM..
