Spring Hill Seating - A3. What were the biggest challenges you faced: Transition from 84s cycle time to 42s cycle time. Operators perceived that they had less time to complete tasks than in previous sub assembly configuration (work content balanced to 42s). Downtime events have larger impact on production. 100% in-house integration of line. No ramp up transition time for operators. Three (3) mistakes that you made: Pallet lock to line (anti-tip). Platforms were not tall enough to perform job tasks. Wire harness management during transit from station to station. Wire harness position allowed for potential damage to connectors. Your key learning during your activities: Utilize focus groups earlier in process to avoid miscommunications with operators. One (1) challenge you have unresolved: Wire harness management, it is better than at start of racetrack but still dependent on operators to contain wire harness to prevent damage. Still need more robust solution..
