The lower down in the hierarchy must be satisfied before individuals can attend to needs higher up. Sustainability issues get into focus only on the upper level 2 but starts playing a significant role on the highest level. Sports organizations meet with the society at level 3 where the lead need is belonging to a community. That's why sports organizations can play a significant role in increasing the awareness of sustainable life when satisfying a mid-low level of a basic human need..
